However, regarding the accusations that she’s drawn inspiration from Lolita, she’s been adamant that people are reading too deeply into it and overstating their case.

Responding to a TikTok that drew a comparison between an image from her September 2024 W Magazine photoshoot and a still from the 1997 Lolita film, Carpenter stated, “I’ve never watched this movie. It was never on my list of inspirations and never will be.
