Superman’s Rachel Brosnahan calls for stars to stand by their bad superhero movies

Actress Rachel Brosnahan, known for her role as Superman, has spoken up against performers who take on parts in comics-based films, only to criticize them later when they don’t succeed.

As a gaming enthusiast, I can’t help but notice that superhero films have drawn quite a bit of criticism lately. Both critics and fans seem to share the sentiment that the latest offerings from Marvel and DC aren’t living up to their usual standards.

In a humorous twist, the actors from those films have added their thoughts. Sydney Sweeney playfully commented on Saturday Night Live that “you won’t find me in Madame Web,” while Dakota Johnson expressed her viewpoint about the same movie saying, “Art often struggles when it’s collectively created.

But one actor is clapping back at such comments, on the eve of her first superhero movie’s release.

New Lois Lane doesn’t want your superhero movie complaints

In a chat with Amanda Sefried for Interview Magazine this summer, Rachel Brosnahan expressed her stance that actors ought to support the projects they’re involved in.

It’s puzzling why someone would agree to a project but later grumble about it.

After that, she reinforces her stance by saying: “Now listen, I’m not trying to belittle other actors, but there was a time when it was trendy to criticize superhero movies and dismiss projects like this as unworthy. If you agree or disagree, just make up your mind and stick with it.

Rachel Brosnahan’s Krypto was a person in a suit

As a die-hard gamer, I can’t contain my excitement for the latest Superman flick! It’s got all the action you’d expect – jaw-dropping fights, thrilling stunts, colossal monsters – but there’s an extra layer of awesomeness thrown in. Good versus evil has never been more compelling!

Additionally, you’ll find Krypto, who is essentially a canine with extraordinary abilities, among the cast. However, the actress mentioned that on some occasions, a human stood in for the dog.

Brosnahan remarks, “He’s adorable,” but she encountered challenges with the set during her scene. The restrictions prevented her from shooting with a stand-in. A stand-in dog was present at times, but there were also instances where an individual in a computer-generated suit played the dog’s role. At other moments, nothing replaced the canine, leaving Brosnahan feeling like she had never been more out of her acting depth.

The film “Superman” is set to premiere on July 11, 2025. Until then, there’s news about the post-credits scene in Man of Steel, speculation about a possible Justice League movie, updates on Mr. Handsome, details of changes James Gunn made following test screenings, and an explanation as to why this Superman wears briefs over his costume.
