TikTokers are going viral with AI-generated ASMR videos

A significant number of ASMR videos, created using AI, have become popular on TikTok, with this new “fad” rapidly gaining traction on the platform.

Since the rise of popular AI-made videos in 2023, people have been posting these videos with the hope of gaining internet fame and popularity on social media platforms.

A few months ago, TikTok experienced a popular trend where people utilized an AI software to transform well-known podcast hosts like Joe Rogan, Theo Von, and many others into babies using viral clips. This resulted in a flood of baby versions of these top celebrities taking over the app.

currently, an enormous amount of AI-created ASMR content is flooding TikTok, with videos featuring a woman seemingly eating a bowl of molten lava among them.

AI ASMR goes viral on TikTok

As a gamer, when I check out TikTok videos, I often encounter the same repetitive scene: a blade slicing through an object that resembles glass.

Typically, these structures resemble various types of fruits, such as bunches of grapes, watermelons, or apples.

Occasionally, the video presents a spherical object resembling a glass, which appears ordinary at first glance. But upon cutting it open, it reveals either a kiwi or the interior of a coconut.

The latest trend in AI-based ASMR isn’t limited to the act of cutting things. A popular video, for instance, features a woman partaking in a mukbang, yet instead of eating food, she uses chopsticks to consume a bowl filled with simulated molten lava.

In some AI-related videos, lava seems to be a recurring motif. On last Sunday, the 15th of June, one account shared a video featuring an extraterrestrial creature extending Father’s Day greetings, while holding a tray of food.

Rather than an ordinary steak, it appears as if the alien is carrying a platter bearing a sizzling heap of lava shaped like a steak.

In most AI ASMR videos on TikTok, a multitude of users express surprise at the unpredictable nature of the content, frequently remarking on the high number of videos centered around lava themes.

Over the past couple of months, artificial intelligence (AI) content has been trending significantly within our app. As far back as February, we introduced an AI-powered historical filter that enabled users to virtually travel back in time.
