Amazon Carries Nintendo Games Again, Including New Switch 2 Exclusives

For the first time on Amazon, you can now purchase the latest and forthcoming Switch 2 titles from Nintendo, including Donkey Kong Bananza, Mario Kart World, and other exclusive Nintendo games. These game listings have been discreetly added to Amazon’s US marketplace over the weekend, despite the Nintendo store page still being outdated. This development marks the conclusion of a dispute that lasted over a year, during which all first-party Nintendo games and hardware were withdrawn from Amazon’s inventory.

Nintendo Switch 2 Games at Amazon

  • Mario Kart World — $80
  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild — $70
  • The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom — $80
  • Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster — $40
  • Donkey Kong Bananza — $70 | Releases July 17
  • Super Mario Party Jamboree + Jamboree TV — $80 | Releases July 24
  • Kirby and the Forgotten Land + Star-Crossed World — $80 | Releases August 28

Alongside Mario Kart World, Amazon has set up listings for the Nintendo Switch 2 versions of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. Interestingly enough, Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD, an exclusive remastered version of the popular RPG on Switch 2 from Square Enix, had been missing from Amazon until now as well.

Pre-orders are now open for Donkey Kong Bananza at Amazon, priced at $70 before its July 17 launch date. Additionally, owners of Switch 2 can preorder Super Mario Party Jamboree and the accompanying Jamboree TV, as well as Kirby and the Forgotten Land bundle with Star-Crossed World.

The Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart Package can be found on Amazon as well, however, it’s not currently offered for sale. At present, official accessories for the Switch 2 haven’t appeared on Amazon, but we will update this article once items like the Switch 2 Pro Controller and Switch 2 Camera become available.

On Amazon, you can find the latest Nintendo games for the original Switch, such as Xenoblade Chronicles X and Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, which were released this year. Interestingly, the listing for Donkey Kong Country Returns HD defaults to a third-party seller, but it’s actually Amazon’s own discount shop, Woot, offering the game for $45 (originally $60). Similarly, Mario & Luigi: Brothership, another newly listed game, is available at Woot for $50 (originally $60). It seems that more games from Nintendo’s back catalog might be up for sale on Amazon soon.

Nintendo Switch Games at Amazon

  • Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition — $57.74 ($60)
  • Donkey Kong Country Returns HD — $45 ($60)
  • Mario & Luigi: Brothership — $50 ($60)

Some of the fresh Amiibo figures for The Legend of Zelda and Street Fighter 6 are now up for pre-order on Amazon. These new Amiibos officially hit the market on June 5, but the June 23 release date on Amazon is specific to them. Additionally, certain games mentioned earlier are currently shown as “out of stock temporarily,” suggesting that Amazon is still in the process of restocking its Nintendo game inventory.

Amazon and Nintendo have never disclosed the reasons behind the withdrawal of Nintendo’s first-party products from Amazon’s online marketplace. In early 2024, Amazon ceased selling Switch games, and subsequently, all popular Nintendo games, accessories, and even Nintendo Switch Online subscriptions were taken off the shelves. This trend was observed at Walmart as well, but the issue between Walmart and Nintendo was resolved prior to the holiday season.
