Creative Assembly is set to mark the 25th year of the Total War series with thrilling revelations regarding upcoming additions to the franchise.

Over a span of twenty-five years, this British gaming company has offered players the opportunity to encounter various trials throughout different eras – the Middle Ages, ancient times, contemporary periods, and the mythical world of Warhammer. Battles, both glorious and grueling, have been part of the experience in this ever-evolving series that encompasses diverse battlefields.

Indeed, challenges arose, yet Total War not only persisted through 25 years, but also maintained its place as one of the leading strategic games, if not at the pinnacle then certainly among the front-runners. Acknowledging this, the Creative Assembly team expressed gratitude in a post on the official Total War forum to both fans for their unwavering support and employees for their dedication to the series.

Over time, we’ve experienced successes and challenges, and it’s an honor and a humbling experience to be among the select video game series reaching such a monumental achievement. We couldn’t have done this without your support – so, on this momentous occasion, our heartfelt gratitude goes out to each one of you!

The past and future of Total War in 2025

To honor the 25th anniversary of the renowned “Total War” series, Creative Assembly is looking back at its rich history by featuring interviews, videos, and historical multiplayer tournaments. These festivities will run from August to November. The developers invite players to join in the celebration of a quarter-century of “TW”, through giveaways during competitions, Q&A sessions with studio staff, or showcasing fan mods and content creators like streamers and influencers.

Instead, the developer will not only delve into the past history of the series but also shed light on its upcoming aspects during the Total War: 25th Anniversary Showcase, scheduled for early December. This presentation will unveil forthcoming installments in the series and the teams responsible for their development.

We won’t hold off for all the upcoming releases until December or beyond, as it’s unlikely we’ll see December launches of new games from Creative Assembly this year. Instead, we’re excited about a significant 6.2 update arriving for Total War: Warhammer 3 this week, introducing fresh units and critical gameplay adjustments. Additionally, the next DLC is on the horizon.
