Bitcoin Bonanza: Guess Who Just Spent $1 Billion?

So, you know how some people have a savings account? Well, Strategy (MSTR) has a bitcoin account, and it’s just gotten a whole lot bigger 🤑. They’ve added 10,100 BTC to their stash, because who needs cash when you can have crypto, am I right? 💸

This brings their total bitcoin holdings to a whopping 592,100 BTC, which is valued at approximately $63.3 billion. I mean, that’s a lot of bitcoin. Like, a LOT of bitcoin 🤯. The average purchase price of their total BTC position is now $70,666, because who doesn’t love a good bargain? 🤑

But how did they afford this bitcoin bonanza, you ask? Well, it’s quite simple really. They just sold a bunch of preferred stock, because who needs equity when you can have crypto? 🤷‍♀️ The 10% Series A Perpetual Stride Preferred Stock (STRD) issuance raised approximately $979.7 million in net proceeds, which is just a fancy way of saying they got a lot of cash 💸.

And because one type of preferred stock just isn’t enough, they also sold some other classes, like STRK and STRF. Because, why not? 🤷‍♀️ Between June 9 and June 15, they raised even more cash from these equity offerings, but we won’t bore you with the details 😴.

So, what’s the result of all this financial wizardry? MSTR shares are trading at 1.60% in pre-market hours, and bitcoin is still holding strong at $107,000. Because, of course it is 💪.
