In an unexpected moment, IShowSpeed unintentionally confessed that he was intimidated by the prospect of approaching soccer icon, Lionel Messi, following their meeting at the FIFA Club Football World Cup.
On June 15th, before the initial clash between Inter Miami and Al Ahly in their tournament opener, speed could be felt backstage in the stadium tunnel. Unfortunately for both teams, the encounter resulted in a scoreless tie.
Approaching the tunnel, Speed spotted Messi with Inter Miami, called out his name, yet decided not to go near him.
Inquiring with his chat and the people nearby, Speed asked, “Chat, wasn’t that Lionel Messi? No chance, I simply didn’t see Messi. Impossible!” After a brief exchange, it became clear that it was indeed Messi who had walked by him, so Speed exclaimed, “I came really close to Messi, man! I was terrified.

Speed denies being scared of Messi
Hey there, folks, even though it might seem like all hope is lost, let me tell you why I didn’t go all out trying to grab Messi’s attention during the stream,” Speed later shared. “I honestly wasn’t anticipating him showing up. When I spotted him, my mind was just like ‘Messi? Really?’
Originally, you said: “I was on the verge of approaching him. He walked by, and I exclaimed, ‘Ah, there he is! That’s Messi. I was about to approach him, but his bodyguard asked, ‘What are you doing?'” Later on, you added that he continued with the conversation.
“I was just about to head over to him, when he passed by. Recognizing him as Messi, I blurted out, ‘That’s him right there!’ I had intended to speak with him, but his bodyguard stopped me and asked what my intentions were.” He then carried on the conversation.
“I was about to go talk to him, but he walked past. I said, ‘There he is! That’s Messi!’ I wanted to speak with him, but his guard asked why I was approaching him.” He continued the discussion afterwards.
In response to your assertion about him freezing up, he clarified, “I didn’t become paralyzed with fear, friend. I didn’t freeze. I was taken aback, buddy, but I wasn’t afraid.
Following another round of gentle jibes about being star-struck, Speed unintentionally revealed once more that he was feeling jittery, mentioning his companion, Slipz, as also being fearful. Quickly recognizing his mistake, Speed corrected himself, “No, no, I wasn’t scared. It was Slipz who was afraid.
It’s common knowledge that Speed is fond of soccer. Whether he’ll have another chance to interact more closely with Messi, just like he did with other renowned soccer players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, is yet to be determined.
