The new trailer for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater hinted at the comeback of Metal Gear Online. During the recent Konami Direct Showcase, they officially unveiled the new multiplayer mode as Fox Hunt. But it won’t just be a repetition of the old version, Metal Gear Online.
At Konami’s presentation, Fox Hunt director Yu Sahara referred to it as an elevated version of camouflage and hide-and-seek, stating that players can either opt to stay concealed using their advanced camouflage or actively search for their elusive opponents. He further mentioned that while the game shares the same universe as Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, the gameplay will be significantly distinct.
Metal Gear Online was initially launched together with Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots back in 2008. Although Fox Hunt shares some resemblances with MGO, Sahara emphasized that it will offer a distinct new gameplay mode due to significant advancements in the online gaming environment since MGO in both Metal Gear Solid 4 and Metal Gear Solid V.
Shara has given word that additional details about Fox Hunt are coming up shortly. Until then, Konami previewed a collaboration between Snake Eater and Ape Escape titled “Snake vs. Monkey.” This game will be accessible on both PS5 and PC platforms. In contrast, Xbox Series X|S users can anticipate the “Snake vs. Bomberman” mode.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC on August 28.
