In the latest episode of “Too Much” podcast, Gigi Paris, Glen Powell’s former partner, openly discussed their broken relationship in April 2023, which coincided with rumors of a romance between Powell and his “Anyone But You” co-star Sydney Sweeney. However, it was later disclosed to The New York Times that the two actors deliberately fueled these speculations to promote the film’s publicity. This tactic proved successful as “Anyone But You” became a surprise box office success, generating $220 million globally.

Paris expressed that she desired respect, particularly in a public setting, during a recent podcast. On this podcast, she didn’t explicitly mention the actors, but it’s about the unfolding of her four-year relationship with a high-profile celebrity ex in the public eye.

Paris went on, ‘Please, don’t embarrass me. Let’s not make a mockery of someone you’ve been with for more than three years, who you’ve discussed a future with. Show some respect, you understand? In the end, it seemed like work was more important. If that’s the case, then so be it, that’s your choice. I have to move on. What made it worse was how it was done. I felt discarded, almost thrown to the wolves… It wasn’t manipulation, it was simply, ‘This is what I need for my career.’

In an interview with The Times in April 2024 following the box office triumph of “Anyone But You”, Powell shared that “Sydney and I share a great deal of laughter, and our chemistry feels effortless. This is the appeal of what viewers see on-screen translating off-screen, and sometimes you need to embrace it more – and it turned out beautifully. Sydney is incredibly intelligent.

In the production of “Anyone But You”, Sweeney played a significant role in its promotion, stating, “I felt it was crucial to engage with our viewers during the promotional phase. After all, they’re the ones who have shaped the whole storyline.

During her podcast interview, Paris expressed that she felt deeply saddened when she chose to end her relationship because it seemed only she was eager to resolve the ongoing speculation about their romance. She shared an anecdote of traveling to Australia, where the movie “Anyone But You” was produced, and claimed that she was subsequently instructed not to visit the filming location.

In a conversation, they informed me, ‘After careful consideration with the producers, I believe it’s not ideal for you to pay a visit… And at that moment, I ended the call. It left me feeling, ‘This individual has burned their bridges with me,’ Paris confessed. ‘That phone call was the final nail in the coffin. I had harbored hope, thinking maybe when I arrived, things would improve. But upon receiving that call, I knew it was all over. I had lost the person I once loved.’
