Tesha Crawford Joins New Regency as EVP, Head of International Television

New Regency appoints Tesha Crawford as the Executive Vice President, heading the department for International Television.

Crawford will work from the U.K., managing our growing collection of television content worldwide and guiding our international development and production plans. With extensive experience in the industry, this seasoned professional will report to Yariv Milchan, Chairman and CEO of New Regency, as well as Natalie Lehmann, President of Motion Pictures and Television.

As a movie aficionado, I’m thrilled to share that New Regency is broadening its diverse cinematic portfolio with some tantalizing upcoming projects. Among them is the adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, “Blood Meridian,” penned by Academy Award winner John Logan and directed by John Hillcoat. Another exciting venture is the big-screen interpretation of Ubisoft’s blockbuster video game franchise, “Watch Dogs,” featuring talented actors Tom Blyth and Sophie Wilde. These projects promise an intriguing blend of literary mastery and cutting-edge gaming technology, making for an enticing cinematic experience!

New Regency has several new and forthcoming films on the horizon, such as Steve McQueen’s “Blitz” (streaming on Apple TV+); “The Bikeriders,” which will be released by Focus Features; an unnamed Elon Musk documentary from Alex Gibney that will air on HBO; Asif Kapadia’s “2073”; and a Jimi Hendrix documentary titled “Jimi” directed by Emmy nominee Bao Nguyen.

Some of our television productions include “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” streaming on Prime Video, a new limited series of “Malcolm in the Middle” airing on Disney, “Man on Fire,” a series adapted from the movie with the same title, available on Netflix, and “Prime Target,” featuring Leo Woodall, which can be found on Apple TV+.

Crawford’s employment demonstrates the company’s growing commitment to international storytelling and content collaborations. Her position signifies a strategic focus on creating exceptional, quality content for worldwide viewers, utilizing New Regency’s creative flexibility and extensive industry connections.

Crawford boasts an extensive background in creating films and TV shows on a global scale, with a proven ability to develop critically-acclaimed scripted series across various regions. In her most recent role, she served as the senior vice president of Global Scripted Series at Universal International Studios. There, she oversaw the U.K. creative team and spearheaded international growth initiatives.

As a seasoned movie critic, I’ve had the privilege of spending six years immersed at the heart of Netflix, contributing significantly to their International Originals team (now known as Local Language Originals). My journey began by constructing the foundation for their first original content in Latin America. Subsequently, from Amsterdam, I spearheaded the Nordics series team, bringing captivating stories to the screen. In my latest London tenure, I orchestrated the management of global franchises such as “The Witcher” and “Millarworld,” ensuring these iconic productions resonated with audiences worldwide.
