The MSI 2025 tournament is just around the corner! Each region will host its own playoff matches to decide which teams get a spot at the international event.
As a gaming enthusiast, I can’t help but notice the shift in the landscape since the recent regional mergers birthed the LCP and LTA systems, reshaping qualification paths for numerous teams. This new structure might even limit the chances of underdogs from smaller regions like Vietnam to participate in the event. If we aspire to see a team from Vietnam pull off an inspiring underdog run, they’ll need to navigate through the LCP system first.
While powerhouse teams such as reigning champions Gen.G appear to be strong contenders for the upcoming LCK event, it’s important to remember that nothing is finalized just yet. Not every region has confirmed their qualified teams.
Here’s a breakdown of the LoL MSI 2025 event, including its schedule and the teams that have qualified thus far:
1. Event Schedule: The specific dates for LoL MSI 2025 have not been announced yet. Keep an eye out for updates!

How to watch MSI 2025
As per tradition, the MSI 2025 tournament will be broadcast live via Riot Games’ official Twitch channel. The event spans from June 27th to July 12th, with the Esports World Cup commencing merely four days later, on July 16th-20th. If a team emerges victorious at MSI, they might find themselves immediately returning to the international stage for a chance to win a $2 million prize pool shortly after the tournament concludes.
It’s also probable that prominent streamers such as Caedrel and IWDominate will be granted the right to broadcast the event live. At this point, the complete roster of co-streamers hasn’t been revealed yet; we’ll keep you posted once it becomes public.

Play-Ins
Four second-ranked teams from China’s LPL, Europe‘s LEC, APAC’s LPC, and America’s LTA will engage in fierce competition during the Play-Ins to determine which team advances to the Bracket Stage.
Because a team from the League of Legends Championship Series (LCK) triumphed in the First Stand tournament at the start of the year, the second-ranked team from South Korea will be able to bypass the play-in round directly.
Date | Match |
---|---|
June 27, 3:00PM EST/12:00PM PT | Winner’s Round 1, TBD |
