How to unlock fast travel
In Dune: Awakening, you’ll discover that fast travel isn’t introduced through the main quests, quite unexpectedly. Instead, you’ll encounter an NPC hidden within a side quest who will guide you on how to use fast travel. The earliest chance to utilize this feature comes during the “A Wider World” side quest, as you progress further in the game, you’ll unlock vehicles like the Sandbike and more.
The initial opportunity to accept this quest presents itself on your first trip to Griffin’s Reach Tradepost. For me, this occurred approximately three hours into the game. Considering I spent a considerable amount of time searching for an ideal location to establish my base and later expanded it into a four-story mansion, it’s clear how such tasks can consume time.
No matter what, when you’re at Griffin’s Reach, swing by the ornithopter pilot hanging out in the corner of the main building – you’ll spot ’em right across from the contracts board. You can chat them up and request a ride to one of their drop-off points: Hagga Basin, Arrakeen, or Harko Village.
In Harko Village, which is one of the Harkonnen strongholds, you’ll find yourself. House Atreides takes refuge in Arrakeen, another location you can easily reach. Lastly, you’ve already explored Hagga Basin. You have the option to quickly fly to any of these locations. Although fast travel through the main map isn’t available initially, there’s usually a Tradepost nearby, especially during the early stages of the game. Later on, you can use your own vehicles to swiftly navigate the dunes.
