After its long-awaited return, Hollow Knight: Silksong was showcased during the unveiling of the ROG Xbox Ally portable console. Following the presentation, Sarah Bond from Xbox shared that Silksong will be released shortly, indicating it will be playable at launch and included in Game Pass when the handheld device is launched later in this year.
Previously, Microsoft had already announced the release window for Silksong, which happened back in 2022 during the Xbox Games Showcase. Each game at that event was expected to be released within a year. However, it was later postponed indefinitely until it reappeared during the unveiling of the Nintendo Switch 2 earlier this year.
Ever since the initial glimpse of Silksong back in 2015, information about this game has been scarce as a rare gemstone in a mine shaft. Since 2019, I’ve been on tenterhooks, hoping for some juicy details. While Team Cherry occasionally drops tantalizing hints about enemy designs and gameplay tweaks, the rest of the puzzle remains shrouded in mystery, leaving me eagerly waiting for more revelations.
As a devoted admirer, I’m thrilled to share that the star of Hollow Knight: Silksong is none other than Hornet, a remarkable character who straddles two powerful realms. She is not only the daughter of the divine ruler of Hallownest, the Pale King, but also the spider queen of Deepnest, Herrah the Beast. In this expansion-turned-sequel, players will have the opportunity to harness Hornet’s needle and thread, traversing a diverse array of stages in an exhilarating metroidvania adventure.
Silksong is now confirmed to release on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch, with an added benefit that it will be accessible via Xbox Game Pass on its launch day for both Xbox and PC users.
