According to reports, Trachtenberg initially showcased his abilities on the set of Prey, but truly solidified his position as the ideal choice for the series with Killer of Killers. Prior to the release of the animated sci-fi movie on Hulu on June 5, the 1987 original had been the top-rated film from both camps. To put it another way, the Arnold Schwarzenegger and Carl Weathers sci-fi action film received a Certified Fresh rating of 80% from critics and 87% from audiences.

According to reviews, Trachtenberg’s ‘Prey’ was more favorably received by critics compared to ‘Predator’, boasting a remarkable 94% approval rating. However, it was the audience who gave it a less exceptional, still-appreciative 74%. In comparison, ‘Killer of Killers’ outshines both with its impressive 97% critical acclaim and a strong 90% approval from viewers.

2018’s The Predator received unfavorable reviews, with a mere 34% approval rating from critics and 32% from audiences. This is worse than the scores for the 1990 sequel, which had a dismal 29% approval rating from critics but managed a slightly higher 44% from audiences. The crossover films fared even worse; Alien vs. Predator in 2004 garnered only 21% approval from critics and 39% from audiences, while Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem holds the franchise’s lowest score at an abysmal 12% from critics and 30% from audiences.

On the very first day after its debut on Hulu, “Predator: Killer of Killers” quickly became the most-watched film on the platform. Additionally, it drew interest across various global regions on Disney+, where it’s accessible internationally, but it didn’t claim the top spot in its initial day according to data available.
