Fans have eagerly anticipated the next movie in the enchanting burglary series, “Now You See Me,” for a full ten years. With this year’s theater release, it appears that the initial announcement in 2015 for “Now You See Me 3” wasn’t just a clever deception. The sequel has been rebranded with a fresh, intriguing “Now You See Me: Now You Don’t,” and features the primary cast from the first film, including Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, and Dave Franco.
In the upcoming third installment of the “Now You See Me” series, a fresh, youthful crew of illusionists is teaming up with the veterans to execute a heist that surpasses the previous ones in risk. This latest movie sets the magicians against the criminal underworld, as hinted at in the trailer that has already been unveiled. Moreover, Lionsgate announced that additional films are planned for this franchise. The third film, titled “Now You See Me: Now You Don’t“, is helmed by Ruben Fleischer, director of movies such as Venom and Zombieland, who also worked with Jesse Eisenberg and Woody Harrelson in those films.
Introducing New Magicians Alongside the Four Horsemen
Exciting update for admirers of the initial Now You See Me: the original Four Horsemen are coming back for Now You See Me 3! The group consists of Danny Atlas (played by Jesse Eisenberg), Merritt McKinney (Woody Harrelson), Jack Wilder (Dave Franco), and Henley Reeves (Isla Fisher). The first three members were also seen in Now You See Me 2, but this is Isla Fisher’s comeback to the series since the first film. Morgan Freeman is also back, continuing his role as Thaddeus Bradley from the first two movies, where he investigates illusions.
A fresh set of young magicians, namely Bosco (Dominic Sessa), June (Ariana Greenblatt), and Charlie (Justice Smith), make their appearance. These three draw significant influence from The Horsemen, as they incorporate holograms of the original group into one of their illusions. This catches the eye of Atlas, leading him to enlist them for his impending task. Together, they embark on a mission to pilfer from the movie’s new villain, Veronika Vanderberg, who is portrayed by Rosamund Pike and heads a criminal organization.
The Four Horsemen Meet Organized Crime
Even though the movie “Now You See Me: Now You Don’t” won’t hit theaters until late this year, a trailer for it has already been released. The trailer offers a sneak peek at the Horsemen’s next heist, which seems to deviate slightly from the plotlines of the previous two films. This time around, it appears that the magicians have been tasked with pulling off a daring caper involving the theft from one of the world’s most powerful criminal organizations.
In the trailer, Atlas discloses that a tarot card, possibly gifted by the enigmatic magical group known as The Eye, foretold his requirement for the aid of Bosco, June, and Charlie. Since the original three members of the Four Horsemen are no longer alive to him, he needs their support. Together, they aim to pilfer the Heart Diamond, a highly valuable gemstone, from Veronika Vanderberg. Vanderberg and her criminal family have been exploiting diamonds as a means to facilitate money laundering, and Atlas feels it’s now crucial to sever their financial resources.
In this upcoming installment of the Now You See Me series, Atlas seems to have his hands full as he not only needs to pull off an apparently straightforward diamond heist, but also mend his ties with The Four Horsemen and mentor three novice magicians. Simultaneously, he must evade the threats posed by the Vanderberg family. This intricate plot promises to deliver the jaw-dropping twists and illusions that have made the series a fan favorite. The addition of real-life criminals as antagonists brings a fresh spin to the storyline, adding an extra layer of excitement for viewers.
When Does ‘Now You See Me 3’ Release?
It’s important to note that “Now You See Me: Now You Don’t” isn’t likely to serve as the final installment in the series. Lionsgate, the distributor of the “Now You See Me” films, has already announced that a fourth film is underway. Director Ruben Fleischer will be returning for the fourth movie, suggesting that “Now You See Me 4” may follow the pattern set by the third film. The sequel’s setup wasn’t fully established during the production of “Now You See Me: Now You Don’t”, so we might not see much foreshadowing for it.
Through November, viewers have a chance to watch the initial two “Now You See Me” movies on Netflix. However, it is possible that these movies could be transferred to Amazon Prime Video before the premiere of “Now You See Me: Now You Don’t.
