Indonesian Beat-‘Em-Up Acts Of Blood Gives Raid Vibes During Summer Game Fest

2025, at the Summer Game Fest, I got wind of a fresh trailer unveiled by the brilliant Indonesian dev, Fajrul FN, for his upcoming indie beat-’em-up title – Acts of Blood. After a whole year of beta testing, this game has finally taken center stage!

In a foggy, dystopian landscape of southeast Asia, this game revolves around a young man on a mission to retaliate for his slain father against an army of relentless criminals. Our protagonist, however, seems capable of delivering even more forceful blows. The fighting style appears heavily inspired by the latest wave of incredibly intense Indonesian martial arts movies, including Gareth Evans’ film “The Raid” and Timo Tjahjanto’s “The Night Comes For Us.

In terms of gameplay, Acts of Blood seems to draw inspiration from Sifu’s fluid mechanics, another innovative approach to beat-em-ups featuring a solitary combatant battling waves of aggressive adversaries. The main character in Acts of Blood, however, is shown to be quite destructive, using whatever tools at hand such as a baseball bat, crowbar, or shotgun to eliminate his enemies.

This game seems to incorporate elements of Mirror’s Edge parkour, as well as a clear tribute to the epic prison courtyard brawl from The Raid 2. In other words, it’s filled with intense, high-impact hand-to-hand combat, thrilling acrobatic evasions from law enforcement, and, it seems, an incredibly cool jacket.

The game is due out in Summer 2026 for PC. Check out the trailer below.
