Update (June 6th, 02:58 pm PT)

Original news (June 6th)

A surprise teaser trailer for the Lies of P: Overture expansion seems to have surfaced online early (reportedly via VGC). This sneak peek at the soulslike game has sparked interest among gamers due to its unexpected finale.

The video concludes by stating, “Now available on Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One,” implying that the expansion might be released imminently, possibly even during the upcoming Xbox Game Showcase event scheduled for this coming Sunday.

An unexpectedly swift release of Round8 Studio’s game in summer 2025 should come as no shock; the upcoming debut has long been anticipated.

In “Lies of P: Overture,” we’ll journey back in time and explore the city of Krat before its significant in-game events unfold. This expansion will introduce us to the Legendary Tracker character, and despite being additional content, the developers have designed a comprehensive experience for us. As per the game director, finishing this DLC could take players more than 20 hours.

The opening stage, or introduction, will retain the challenging intensity comparable to that found in “Lies of P”. Certain sections within the downloadable content may prove exceptionally tough, even for seasoned gamers.

For those new to soul-like games, there’s no cause for concern – Lies of P: Overture provides an adjustable difficulty setting to cater to a broad range of players and make the game accessible to all.
