Chronicles: Medieval Is A “Medieval Sandbox” That Leans On Player Choice

Today at Summer Game Fest Live hosted by Geoff Keighley, a fresh studio named Raw Power Games, based in Copenhagen with developers who previously worked on games such as Cyberpunk 2077 and Grand Theft Auto, revealed its inaugural project. Named Chronicles: Medieval, this action-RPG promises an adventure where the choices made by each player will result in unique experiences, ensuring that no two stories are alike.

At SGF Live, an announcement trailer featuring voiceovers by Tom Hardy was unveiled. It depicted a series of scenes, including a blacksmith forging a sword, a soldier leading his troops, and other dynamic sequences. As the video progressed, the soldier climbed onto his horse, brandished his sword high, and the entire army charged into battle. This transition from cinematic visuals to actual gameplay was striking.

In “Chronicles: Medieval,” players dive into an engaging medieval environment where they can craft unique characters and explore a world impacted by their actions. Each player gets to select one of three narratives – power, adventure, or wealth – for their character, followed by managing diplomacy and open confrontation to advance.

In these conflicts, you’ll engage in massive battles where you can gather and prepare troops for action. Once ready, you’ll take command, deciding the tactics your soldiers use when confronting the enemy. Simultaneously, your custom character will be right in the heart of the action, battling alongside your trained forces.

Raw Power Games has announced that they will offer extensive backing to the modding community at the game’s release, promising players the necessary ‘freedom, assistance, and tools’ to generate fresh content for the game.

2026 marks the beginning of Chronicles: Medieval’s early access phase on PC through Steam. A precise release date hasn’t been disclosed yet.
