Throughout Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super, Tien remains a significant figure, though he may not receive the same spotlight as characters like Vegeta, Gohan, or even Krillin. However, Dragon Ball makes it evident that martial arts remain Tien’s lifelong passion, serving as his driving force and guiding principle in life.

A dependable training companion can significantly influence a person’s personal growth. In the world of Dragon Ball, Tien often has Chiaotzu as his companion, yet their relationship doesn’t seem to have fostered significant development in Tien. The series hinted at other potential partners for Tien, like Launch, but none of these relationships lasted. Interestingly, Dragon Ball Super presents a temporary character during the Universe Survival Saga who could not only be an excellent teammate for Tien, but also a remarkable and distinctive Z-Fighter in her own right.

In recent years, Tien established his own dojo as a means to pass on his martial arts knowledge to a fresh generation of enthusiastic students.

Among this group of students is Yurin, a one-time pupil from Crane School who has covertly been learning under Tien. She’s been biding her time, waiting for the right moment to exact revenge. In Dragon Ball Super Episode 89, “The Arrival of the Enigmatic Beauty! Unraveling the Mystery of the Tien Shin-Style Dojo?”, Yurin sets her scheme in motion. Yurin bears a deep grudge against Tien for abandoning Master Shen’s teachings, while she seems to have deeply internalized those principles herself. Yurin’s link to Master Shen forces Tien to confront his questionable past, a topic Dragon Ball had previously hinted at but never fully explored.

Moreover, given her background at Yurin’s Crane School, it can be assumed she is proficient in the traditional techniques that were once considered fundamental to the Crane School, as depicted in the original Dragon Ball. Yet, there’s something captivating about her potential interactions with other Dragon Ball characters too. For instance, the witty exchanges between Yamcha and Yurin could well become legendary.

In a refreshing change for Dragon Ball, it’s clear that more powerful female characters are needed, and a strong, dynamic, and empowered version of Yurin would be a fantastic addition to the storyline. While Caulifla and Kale from Dragon Ball Super were excellent additions, it remains uncertain if any characters from Universe 6 will reappear. Yurin’s skills as a proficient martial artist make her an essential character, and she could potentially excel where characters like Chi-Chi and Videl may have fallen short. Android 18 has already proven herself as a significant female hero in Dragon Ball, but Yurin is a promising candidate to join the ranks of powerful female characters.

As an observer, I’ve noticed the anticipation among fans for the character Launch to make a comeback. Indeed, she’s intriguing, yet her distinct condition may not equate to brute strength. Her forte seems to be in stealing and evading rather than mastering martial arts. In contrast, Yurin excels as a fighter and collaborates effectively with the Z-Fighters from Dragon Ball. If Dragon Ball Super were to lean towards more realistic martial arts, Yurin’s abilities could pave the way. She possesses a blend of traditional skills and extraordinary powers that sets her apart.

What really got my imagination racing, though, was the potential for witchcraft to unfold in Dragon Ball. We’ve seen countless martial arts techniques and superpowers, but the mystical realms of sorcery have yet to be fully explored. Can’t wait to see where this leads in future episodes!

In the world of “Dragon Ball”, the realm of sorcery remains largely unexplored, offering a wide array of possibilities. Enhancing the power of weaker characters in this manner through traditional ki control might appear unnatural, but with witchcraft, it becomes a plausible and intriguing development.

Yurin, being well-versed in witchcraft, might also impart this knowledge to characters like Tien, Master Roshi, Goku, or Vegeta for an extra resource they can use when needed. While it may sound unusual, using witchcraft against Black Frieza – who has no prior experience with it – could potentially defeat this oppressor. This approach aligns thematically with King Piccolo’s Evil Containment Wave pacification technique. In terms of backstory, character development, and magical prowess, Yurin is a Dragon Ball character whose unique abilities could create significant impact if given the chance.
