As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve just made it into the record books! The adrenaline-pumping stunt from Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning takes the cake as the most jaw-dropping feat ever filmed!

In my review of Mission Impossible 8, I bestowed a well-deserved four stars. I expressed that Tom Cruise has taken the action, emotional depth, and narrative finesse to new heights in this final installment. As a dedicated Mission: Impossible fan, I can assure you that no viewer will feel shortchanged by this spectacular sendoff.

The movie includes a prolonged scene set underwater (which might be convenient for taking a break if needed), followed by a thrilling aerial trick, so impressive it earned the main actor a place in the Guinness World Records.

Parachute stunt lands Tom Cruise a world record

As a dedicated gamer, I’ve got to give props to Tom Cruise for shattering records! In Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, he became the individual with the most fiery parachute jumps, an impressive 16 times in total! For the movie, his chute was soaked in fuel and set ablaze. Now that’s a gaming achievement I can only dream of!

The scene under discussion was filmed in Drakensberg, South Africa. In this breathtaking sequence, Tom Cruise free-fell from an altitude of approximately 7,500 feet. After just 2-3 seconds, he managed to detach himself from the burning parachute and deployed a reserve one to make a safe landing. To add to the challenge, he often held a 50-pound camera setup to capture the stunt at close range.
