Following customer accounts of receiving a complimentary can of Pringles and a Coca-Cola alongside their Switch 2 pre-orders, Walmart has now clarified the reason behind this unexpected bonus.
On June 5th, which was a Thursday, the long-awaited Nintendo Switch 2 hit the market, and it didn’t take long for pre-ordered units to be sent out to eager customers fortunate enough to secure one.
Specifically, Walmart devised a strategy to ensure customers received their devices before 9 a.m., but this was not the only trick they had in store. In fact, there were more surprises coming from this colossal grocery chain.
Upon the arrival of their Switch 2 devices, some new owners expressed puzzlement on social media platforms when they found a can of Pringles and a Coca-Cola in their shipment from Walmart.
A user praised Walmart, stating that they truly understand the significance of the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 release. They exceeded expectations by delivering it as early as 7:10 am, kept the customer informed with real-time text updates, and even threw in some complimentary snacks.
I must say, Walmart truly outshone its competitors during the Nintendo Switch 2 launch! Not only did they ensure a delivery at an impressive 7:10 am, but they also kept me in the loop with real-time status updates. To top it off, they even threw in some complimentary snacks to sweeten the deal. On the other hand, Target seems to still be working on getting their shipment ready!

A different user posed this question: “Did anyone else receive a Switch 2 from Walmart along with some complimentary snacks?
In addition to your snacks, Walmart provided a message stating: “Enhance your gaming experience with these complimentary snacks designed for play.
Anyone else order a Switch 2 from Walmart and get some snacks packed in for free?

Walmart responds to surprise Switch 2 treats
Following the popularity of posts showcasing unexpected treats on social platforms, Walmart shared with Aftermath their intention to generate a heartwarming experience for gamers who bought the latest console, aiming to bring joy to these customers.
The representative from Walmart stated something like this: “We’re familiar with the typical image of a gamer, so it goes without saying that they will likely need snacks while gaming.”
The person working at Walmart recognizes what gamers are usually like, and it’s obvious that they would want some snacks when they’re playing games.
Walmart isn’t the sole business dealing with issues related to its Switch 2 preorders, as a GameStop store in New York encountered criticism due to damaging screens by attaching receipts with staples to the packaging.
GameStop responded, saying staplers have been confiscated and replacements have been offered.
In one particular shop, an unusual issue was found where staples were causing damage to the screens of Nintendo Switch 2 devices. As a result, affected units have been replaced and any staplers that may have caused this problem have been taken away.
