After over a year’s gap since its third season finale, the series is returning to our screens this week with Season 4 premiering simultaneously on USA and Syfy networks on June 6 at 11p.m. ET/PT. A week later, it will be accessible on Peacock. In anticipation of the season opener, MovieWeb is thrilled to unveil a sneak peek at the first episode, where we see Harry Vanderspeigle, played by [actor’s name], getting into trouble after crossing paths with a shape-shifting alien known as a Mantid.
Since debuting in 2021, Resident Alien has been unanimously praised by critics, and still holds an out-of-this-world 97% Tomatometer score after three seasons. Despite its critical success, the show had to wait some time for its Season 4 renewal, and only a shift in networks seemed to guarantee its continuation – great news for fans. The synopsis of the new season reads:
In the fourth season, Harry and his newborn Bridget find themselves incarcerated on the Grey Moonbase, as a Mantid Alien posing as Harry Vanderspeigle wreaks havoc on Earth. Managing to break free from the Greys, Harry returns to Earth for a confrontation with the alien imposter. However, he quickly realizes that he might lack the necessary resources to bring this battle to an end. Meanwhile, Asta and D’arcy grapple with the challenge of concealing crucial information from Ben and Kate, who are frantically seeking explanations for their strange experiences. Sheriff Mike and Deputy Liv strive to unravel a series of peculiar deaths in Patience, which Mike suspects may not stem from any human activity.
‘Resident Alien’ Brings Alan Tudyk Back Down to Earth
Few television series have managed to sustain the level of acclaim that “Resident Alien” has garnered throughout its three seasons, with a strong possibility that Season 4 will continue this success. As ever, viewers are excited to witness how Harry, played by Tudyk, navigates his latest troubles, and as suggested in the clip above, he finds himself in quite a pickle indeed.
If Harry hadn’t been able to get out of his jail cell, there wouldn’t have been a fourth season. The real question is how he will pull off his thrilling escape and come back to Earth to resume living among humans. Fans can find out by tuning in on Friday for the return of one of the least recognized sci-fi comedies of recent years.
If you haven’t had the pleasure of watching “Resident Alien” (I wonder where you’ve been, on another planet?), Seasons 1 to 3 are available for streaming now on both Peacock and Netflix, just in time before Season 4 premieres. Each week, new episodes are being released, giving you a convenient opportunity to catch up or rewatch as the fresh season unfolds.
