Richard Linklater’s film “Nouvelle Vague” – a heartfelt cinematic tribute to the French New Wave that premiered at Cannes – will fittingly open the third installment of the Biarritz Film Festival, known as Nouvelles Vagues, on June 24th.

The next day, Sofia Coppola – honored guest at the festival – is scheduled to join a viewing of “The Virgin Suicides” as it marks its 25th anniversary. Additionally, she will participate in a masterclass, attracting many aspiring film students.

At the festive Grand Café dinner, Jérôme Pulis, founder and president of Nouvelles Vagues, along with Sandrine Brauer, general delegate, and Lili Hinstin, programming director, were joined by Bruno Pavlovsky, Chanel’s president of fashion. Friends, ambassadors of the fashion house, and prominent figures from the industry attended the event. The closing event of the festival will feature Neeraj Ghaywan’s movie, “Homebound,” a moving Indian drama that was screened at Cannes under the category “Un Certain Regard.
