Picking merely one character in Elden Ring: Nightreign can be quite challenging because each one has its strengths and weaknesses, yet what stands out the most is their distinct gameplay styles. Some are ideal for beginners, while others come packed with intriguing skills and powerful ultimate abilities. One of the more intricate classes undoubtedly is The Recluse, and her skill, Magic Cocktail.
This tool enables you to generate as many as 14 distinct spell variations, each with unique characteristics. Mastering all of them can be quite demanding. Additionally, some spells are designed for specific situations. Therefore, learning them can make a significant difference in gameplay. A player who is familiar with the effects of most of these spells will stand out from one who only occasionally plays this class.
Magic Cocktail in a nutshell
Previously, I noted that the Magic Cocktail gives you an opportunity to craft 14 distinct enchantments, which form part of Recluse’s arsenal. Some of these spells pack quite a punch with their potent damaging effects. Alternatively, they enable boosting different attributes for your team.
Comprehending the process of how elements get absorbed is crucial. Whenever someone in your group casts magic, be it holy, magical, fire, or lightning, the opponent will be tagged with a color that matches the kind of damage inflicted (like red for fire absorption ability). This rule applies equally to allies if they were the most recently subjected to such damage as well.
Afterward, feel free to incorporate this component to occupy one of the three available Magic Potions spots. This is where the excitement truly kicks in, as there are numerous possibilities. If you prefer not to keep track of each spell’s effect, simply recall that offensive spells tend to be more effective within short and medium distances. Therefore, it’s not beneficial to employ them from a distance, as you’ll likely miss the targets instead.
Initially, you might only manage to use magic-based abilities without assistance from your team. To conserve your energy, try to absorb the element following each attack, ensuring that you never deplete all your magical power entirely.
It’s worth noting that if you opt for either a single elixir (a concoction containing one ingredient) or a double elixir (two identical ingredients combined with one additional one), and it possesses the characteristic of holiness, you can expect that it will function as a boon for you or your group. Conversely, in a mixed combination where each element is unique, holiness amplifies its magical power.
1. It’s important to keep in mind that the more diverse the elements in your spell combinations, the stronger their impact will be.
2. In the advanced stages of the game, it’s advisable to avoid using the same element more than twice, as spells with a wider variety of properties tend to be more effective. Also, the sequence in which you absorb an element doesn’t affect its power!
Best spells from Magic Cocktail
Magic/Lightning
Equipping these components in your Potent Potion will enable you to fashion a powerful weapon, which upon activation, cuts through anything within its moderate distance. This is an ideal talent for overcoming numerous foes simultaneously. It’s also useful in confrontations with bosses, as it inflicts substantial damage.
Fire/Holy
A reclusive creature can deal significant harm, but it’s wise to employ spells that boost your team’s strength and debilitate opponents as well. The blend of fire and holy magic works particularly well for this purpose. In a designated zone, you’ll find a torch that amplifies the maximum health of your allies, lessens the buildup of detrimental conditions like bleeding or poison, and simultaneously reduces the maximum health of enemies affected by the spell.
Magic/Fire/Lightning
This powerful offensive charm temporarily incapacitates foes before unleashing heavy damage onto all surrounding adversaries within a moderate range, making it ideal for handling swarms of smaller and mid-tier opponents. It’s not just effective against groups, but can also be used efficiently against bosses.
Magic/Fire/Holy
Is there anything more fantastic than a massive Fire Cone that not only deals heavy damage to foes but also revitalizes both HP and mana for the allies it brushes against? This magical spell is an exquisite blend of fire, holy energy, and sorcery. Perfect for colossal bosses when your comrades are also assaulting it.
Magic/Lightning/Holy
This particular charm stands out because it will be performed precisely at your current location. Notably, it inflicts an extensive amount of damage on a wide area, but what truly matters is that it grants invulnerability. This means that for a brief period, you transform into an unattackable ice block, making you immune to attacks for several seconds. It’s an excellent charm if you anticipate a powerful assault from your adversary and are their primary target.
