At the Sony PlayStation State of Play event today, NetEase Games unveiled Sea of Remnants, a role-playing game set in an oceanic world, which is being developed by Joker Studio. This free-to-play title is scheduled for release on PlayStation 5, Steam (PC), as well as iOS and Android devices, all in the year 2026.

Sea of Remnants beckons players into an enthralling visual landscape, where they take on the persona of a marionette sailor, bereft of memories. Accompanied by a enigmatic girl, players navigate through expansive oceans, unexplored islands, and a city gradually revealing its secrets. By means of open-world discovery, fierce sea battles, and engaging interactions with an array of more than 300 peculiar characters, players will unravel the mystery behind their missing identity and influence the destiny of the world they inhabit.

In this expansive voyage, you can assemble a diverse team of quirky puppetfolk comrades, personalize your vessel with adaptable enhancements, and create specialized squads for exploration and strategic combat in turn-based sequences. Every action—be it mercy or conquest—will trigger far-reaching consequences throughout the world. As rival factions respond to every decision you make, and the cityscape of Orbtopia adapts accordingly, no two captains will experience identical narratives.
