The initial trailers for Silent Hill f left us stunned, especially since it’s a new game from Konami. With the latest trailer unveiled during Sony’s State of Play show, our excitement remains high. However, we now have an essential detail – the release date! Silent Hill f will launch on September 25, and it will be available on PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.
According to a blog post on the official PlayStation site, produced by Motoi Okamoto, we get a deeper understanding and confirmation of certain details regarding the forthcoming game.
In the game titled Silent Hill f, you will control the character, Shimizu Hinako, who hails from Ebisugaoka, and as Okamoto describes, this portrayal aims to be a genuine reflection of 1960s Japan.
Okamoto outlines that the game development process revolved around four main principles, with an accurate portrayal serving as the foundation. The second aspect focuses on combining aesthetics that evoke both beauty and terror within the game. Okamoto highlights that the monstrous characters were conceptualized by artist kera, while music duties are shared between Akira Yamaoka and Kensuke Inage. Notably, Yamaoka has had a significant role in the Silent Hill series since its early stages, particularly as a musician.
Okamoto describes the third aspect as “puzzles being rooted in emotional turmoil and hardship.” These puzzles will closely align with the narrative, penned by Ryukishi07, and incorporate elements of Japanese history and culture. The fourth point, lastly, is that the game will showcase distinctive combat. According to Okamoto, “The combat will emphasize melee attacks and be more action-packed compared to last year’s Silent Hill 2.”
This game functions independently, so it doesn’t require prior experience with the other Silent Hill games to be enjoyed. It also hints at intriguing aspects of the broader Silent Hill saga that pique our interest.
Silent Hill f will be available on September 25 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
