Internet furious after Pokemon card scalper clears out entire shelf in front of kid

There’s been widespread outrage on the web following the circulation of a viral video, which captured a Pokemon card reseller grabbing an entire shelf ahead of a young kid.

As an ardent Pokémon enthusiast, I can’t help but feel dismayed when I come across the notorious scalpers who seem to have made a name for themselves in the community. These individuals are often found lurking around stores during restocks or even tracking employees to various locations, all with the intention of purchasing as much inventory as they can get their hands on.

For quite some time now, it’s not uncommon for passionate collectors of trading cards to engage in heated disputes within stores, as they desperately vie for ownership of scarce cards. This often leaves onlookers, including other shoppers, stunned and alarmed.

Currently, a card collector has gained widespread attention, but unfortunately not for positive reasons. A video that’s been shared extensively shows an adult filling up a shopping cart with multiple cards, leaving a young boy to watch anxiously, hoping there might still be some items left for him.

Pokemon scalper has the internet outraged

I recently came across an intriguing video on TikTok, shared by the user shis_tcgs. In this clip, there’s a young individual, much like myself, eagerly waiting to purchase some Pokémon cards, holding some cash in hand.

A mature individual, acting as a scalper, hastily emptied an entire rack filled with Destined Rivals cards into his shopping cart. This incident, captured on video, has been watched by more than 1.7 million people, and the uploader is curious to know what reactions viewers would have if they or their child encountered this situation.

“Instead of recording like a Karen, maybe grab stuff FOR your kid,” one remarked.

“Grab the stuff. It’s not his if he didn’t pay yet,” echoed another.

The video likewise circulated on Reddit, drawing further interest as commentators expressed their anger towards the actions of resellers.

“Scalpers in general are just the worst types of people,” someone wrote.

Another person shared a fun game they used to play as a kid, which isn’t widely known among today’s youth, called ‘Take, kick, run.’ They reminisced about how my brothers and I would often play it when we were growing up.

As a passionate gamer, it’s become evident that the growing frustration among our community towards scalpers is reaching boiling point. Some fellow enthusiasts have chosen to express their disapproval by publicly shaming and trolling these resellers on various platforms. Interestingly, even GameStop has taken drastic measures to curb this issue, temporarily halting preorders in an attempt to minimize the influence of resellers.
