Switch 2 Day-1 Update Out Now, Adds Many Critical Features

As a gamer, I can hardly contain my excitement because today, June 5th, marks the release of the Switch 2! And

As a gamer, I’m super excited about this major update! It’s packed with essential features like Nintendo Switch Online support, GameChat for easy communication with friends, GameShare to share gaming fun, and even the eShop itself. Plus, it allows me to transfer my system from the original Switch and share screenshots of my awesome gameplay moments!

Everyone is prompted to download the 20.1.1 update when performing the Switch 2’s initial setup.

Last week, some individuals were able to acquire the new Switch 2 gaming systems, but these devices didn’t offer much functionality without the initial update that became available on launch day. The global release date for the Switch 2 is June 5, and it’s anticipated that millions of these consoles will go online in the next few days as they become available worldwide.

1) The price of the Switch 2 is set at $450, but if you want Mario Kart World included, it will cost you $500. Note:

  • Linking to a Nintendo Account is required for network features, with some exceptions.
  • Updating to version 20.1.1 is required to use Nintendo Switch 2 game-key cards.
  • Updating to version 20.1.1 is required to use a microSD Express card.
