DC Comics gave a whole new logo, though most fans didn’t catch it until Marvel revealed it.
As a thrilled Batman fan, I can’t help but share the exciting news that the freshly unveiled Batman logo on the covers of the imminent crossover one-shots, Deadpool/Batman and Batman/Deadpool, has been officially endorsed as the new emblem for the Dark Knight moving forward. This fresh design will also grace the upcoming ongoing series penned by renowned writer Matt Fraction and illustrated by the talented Jorge Jiménez. To top it off, fans like myself were given a sneak peek at this exciting new series, which is set to hit comic book stores nationwide in September.

According to Fraction, the upcoming “Batman” series will have a strongly superhero-influenced perspective on Batman. He mentioned they’ve introduced a new Batmobile, a new costume design, fresh characters, as well as some familiar ones – both good and bad. Essentially, they aim to honor all aspects of Batman that make him one of the most remarkable characters in comic books by showcasing them in an exciting way.
The upcoming “Batman” series, initially scheduled to follow the initial installment, unfolds a fresh narrative that has been unfolding in the comic books by Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee. The infamous villain, Hush, is back to wreak havoc in Gotham City once more. Unlike the original “Hush” saga, which spanned 24 issues, this new storyline will last for half that duration. Lately, Hush has focused on Jason Todd, who is still grappling with the aftermath of the Lazarus Pit and remains susceptible to manipulation due to his current state.
Initially, fans caught a glimpse of the new logo during the debut of Fraction’s new Batman #1. However, it wasn’t until Marvel unveiled their comics that the significance of the new logo became clear – this marks the start of at least two planned collaborative one-shots between Marvel and DC Comics. The first of these crossovers, Deadpool/Batman #1, will be penned by Zeb Wells and illustrated by Greg Capullo. This will then be followed by Batman/Deadpool #1, written by Grant Morrison and drawn by Dan Mora. Morrison expressed his excitement about the project, stating, “I couldn’t resist the opportunity to collaborate with Dan Mora again, one of my favorite artistic partners… Get ready for some hilarious chaos, owls, blood, blades, and at least one giant typewriter.
Batman #1 goes on sale this September.
