According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Barkley becomes the first Philadelphia Eagle to appear on the cover of the Madden series since Donovan McNabb for Madden NFL 06. Furthermore, Barkley will join the elite 99 Club in the forthcoming game.
Saquon Barkley’s historic 2024 Eagles season
The Eagles caused a stir by snatching Saquon Barkley from their rivals, the New York Giants. Not only did he excel in his best career season yet, but he also set a remarkable record. At 28 years old, Barkley ran for 2,005 yards and 13 touchdowns at an average of 5.8 yards per carry. Moreover, he caught 33 passes for 278 yards and two more scores. In a remarkable turn of events, Barkley came close to shattering Eric Dickerson’s all-time regular-season rushing record of 2,105 yards; however, the Eagles decided to keep him out of Week 18’s game.
In the playoffs, Barkley maintained his supremacy, amassing 499 rushing yards and scoring five touchdowns across four matches. Although he was largely contained during the Super Bowl, this didn’t make much of a difference given the Eagles’ tenacious defense. Notably, Barkley managed to surpass Terrell Davis’ record for the most rushing yards in a season when combined with playoff statistics.
Madden NFL 26 release
According to the announcement for Madden NFL 26’s cover, the game goes on sale August 14, and pre-orders are currently being accepted. EA Sports is providing a unique “MVP Bundle” that includes the Deluxe Versions of both Madden NFL 26 and College Football 26.
