Friday Industries Takes Stake in Thai Production Company Mbrella Films (EXCLUSIVE)

As a movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve gained a substantial share in Mbrella Films, a Thai powerhouse known for their expertise in international co-productions across Southeast Asia. This deal not only brings additional capital but also a line of credit, all geared towards igniting the growth and expansion of this incredible production company.

The new business positions Friday Industries to capitalize on Thailand’s rising popularity as a manufacturing hub, given that Mbrella provides access to various locations and studios throughout the region. With the updated agreement, Mbrella – known for productions like “Hellbound” and “Affinity” – can now bundle tax incentives financing and minimum guarantee financing with its comprehensive production assistance services.

Each year, Thailand is hosting an increasing number of productions – the costs are low, the locations are stunning, and many producers aren’t yet aware of the opportunities here,” said Joshua Dixon, founder and CEO of Mbrella. “We enjoy strong government backing and attractive film incentives, making it an ideal environment for future films and investments. We’re excited to become part of Friday Industries’ network and work with their portfolio companies to facilitate incoming productions in virtually any role.

Mbrella boasts an international management team, headed by American producer Dixon, who has worked on projects such as “King The Land” and “Hellhound.” Additionally, executive producer Adam Pray (“Stranger Than Fiction,” “Khattaf”) and producer Nick Rumpf (“Mission Impossible III,” “Eyes In The Trees”) are both permanent members of the company’s team.

Mbrella is now part of Friday Industries’ film consortium, which encompasses N8 and EST N8. These companies have been involved in the production or distribution of movies such as Michael Mann’s “Ferrari”, “Home For Rent”, the highest-grossing Indonesian film of 2025, “Pabrik Gula”, the Oscar-shortlisted “The Monk and The Gun”, the Cannes 2025 Critics’ Week Grand Prize winner “A Useful Ghost”, and the Cannes selection “Kennedy”.

Mbrella has joined forces with Friday Industries, N8, and EST N8 in their film network. They have worked together on movies like “Ferrari” directed by Michael Mann, “Home For Rent”, a top-grossing Indonesian movie from 2025, “Pabrik Gula”, an Oscar-nominated film called “The Monk and The Gun”, “A Useful Ghost” which won the Grand Prize at Cannes’ Critics’ Week in 2025, and a movie called “Kennedy” that was selected for Cannes.

Kris Eiamsakulrat, CEO and founder of Friday Industries, commented, “This investment strengthens our position in Asia and boosts the pace at which we can develop content infrastructure for the region. Historically, connecting East and West has been our guiding principle, and with Mbrella Films, we will offer a seamless, start-to-finish production solution to our worldwide partners.

Sean Thongchan, COO of Friday Industries, will join Mbrella’s board as part of the deal.

Following their latest collaboration with the British film financier Goldfinch, Friday Industries announced a new step. This partnership launched a $20 million fund, secured by credits, to support movie and premium TV productions in the Middle East, North Africa, and Asia-Pacific territories.
