After the premiere of “Avengers: Doomsday”, two actors have graced every single “Avengers” film within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and this list is expected to expand when unconfirmed actors are officially part of the movie. Post-“Avengers: Endgame”, it was widely believed that a new phase in the MCU would begin under Marvel Studios, leading to upcoming “Avengers” productions being spearheaded by fresh faces. However, contrary to expectations, some of the MCU’s most prominent actors chose to reprise their roles instead.
Every MCU Actor Who Will Have Appeared in All Five Avengers Films
Robert Downey Jr.
In actuality, just two actors from the film “Avengers: Doomsday” are set to appear in every single one of the five previous Avengers films, and Robert Downey Jr. happens to be one of those two.
After five thrilling outings as Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr. took the helm of the Avengers team, vanquishing foes ranging from Loki to Ultron to Thanos. In Avengers: Endgame, however, it was Tony Stark who made the ultimate sacrifice, bringing down Thanos in a climactic showdown that left many speculating about Downey Jr.’s future within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Enthusiasts erupted with excitement when Marvel Studios disclosed that the seasoned “Avengers” star would reappear in “Doomsday” under the character of none other than Doctor Doom. Since that announcement, Downey Jr. has wholeheartedly immersed himself in his portrayal of Doom, even unveiling some sketches focused on Doctor Doom for a special event.
Chris Hemsworth – Thor
Among the actors who have starred in every previous Avengers film, it’s only Chris Hemsworth who has officially been announced as being part of Avengers: Doomsday.
In contrast to Downey Jr.’s character, Hemsworth’s persona managed to survive the incidents portrayed in “Avengers: Endgame”. Following this, he has taken the lead in “Thor: Love and Thunder”, which is the latest installment of his independent series.
Ever since the filming of “Avengers: Doomsday” commenced, Hemsworth has made a few appearances on set. In one instance, he was captured in a backstage photograph alongside several key cast members which included Channing Tatum, Simu Liu, and Paul Rudd.
BONUS: Chris Evans
Rumors hint that Marvel Studios hasn’t confirmed Chris Evans’ return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) for “Avengers: Doomsday,” but there are strong indications that the long-time MCU actor might play a part in the movie.
Should Evans show up, he’ll be added to the list of actors who have starred in all five Marvel Cinematic Universe films featuring the Avengers, alongside Hemsworth and Downey Jr.
Although there have been whispers about Evans’ potential role, several sources claim that the actor won’t reprise his character as Captain America or Steve Rogers. However, it’s still conceivable that he might take up the shield again, but recent speculation hints that Evans might be portraying a completely fresh character instead.
BONUS: Mark Ruffalo
Mark Ruffalo, like many others, hasn’t officially been announced to appear in “Avengers: Endgame”. Nevertheless, whispers from within the industry hint towards his involvement, given that his Marvel Universe Character (MCU) is yet to meet its end.
It’s interesting to point out that concept artwork from a few months back hinted at Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk being part of Avengers: Doomsday. However, directors Joe and Anthony Russo have declared it as false, but some fans remain unconvinced.
Regardless of whether the art in Doomsday was authentic, Mark Ruffalo’s performance would still make him a suitable choice for the role. His recent appearance as Hulk in She-Hulk on Disney+ revealed that Hulk had a son, which implies that this connection must be explored at some point in future storylines.
BONUS: Samuel L. Jackson
It’s been suggested, based on reports from industry experts, that Samuel L. Jackson may not have a definitive role in the upcoming film “Avengers: Doomsday“.
If the reports are accurate, Jackson is slated to reprise his role as Nick Fury, which means he could be part of the cast alongside others who have appeared in all Avengers films to date.
Regardless of whether Fury plays a significant part in the film “Doomsday,” it seems fitting to incorporate him into the movie, considering he was instrumental in establishing the original Avengers team.
BONUS: Tom Hiddleston
Among the other actors listed here, Tom Hiddleston stands out as the only one officially cast in Avengers: Doomsday, and he is set to portray a pivotal character.
Essentially, Tom Hiddleston didn’t receive credit in all Avengers films since he wasn’t part of the final version of “Avengers: Age of Ultron”. However, he did shoot a scene intended for the part where Wanda Maximoff entered Thor’s mind. Unfortunately, that particular scene was eventually cut out from the movie.
Indeed, while Hiddleston might not be present in all the Avengers movies’ final edits, he did record scenes for each and every one of the sequels.
