In the upcoming August, Wednesday Addams encounters new adversaries and challenges. Over the weekend, Netflix unveiled a six-minute clip from “Wednesday” Season 2 at the Tudum fan event, introducing Haley Joel Osment as a serial killer named the Kansas City Scalper.
In the opening scene, I find myself shackled in a chilling basement adorned with ominous dolls – a terrifying reality that seems to have sprung from my darkest dreams. As if reading my thoughts, Jenna Ortega’s character declares this during the clip’s start. In a haunting voiceover, she reveals her summer was spent tracking down the elusive Kansas City Scalper. When I finally come face-to-face with him, he swiftly subdues me, presenting a doll eerily resembling myself. With a chilling smile, he invites me to witness his craftsmanship. But little does he know, my psychic powers are about to turn the tables on him as I break free and launch an attack on this menacing figure.
Joining Tim Burton’s “Wednesday” for its second season are returning cast members including Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Moosa Mostafa, Georgie Farmer, Victor Dorobantu, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, Jamie McShane, and Fred Armisen. In addition to these familiar faces, the new season will introduce series regulars Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, and Noah Taylor. Christopher Lloyd, Joanna Lumley, Thandiwe Newton, Frances O’Connor, Heather Matarazzo, and Joonas Suotamo are among the new guest stars. Lastly, Lady Gaga is set to join the cast in a yet-to-be-revealed role.
On its premiere in November 2022, ‘Wednesday’ turned out to be a massive success for Netflix, eventually breaking records as the platform’s most-watched TV season ever. The first half of Season 2 will air on August 6, with the second half following on September 3.
