“Produced by T-Street, a production company owned by Johnson and Ram Bergman, the movie ‘Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery’ will be distributed by Netflix as per their two-movie deal with Johnson.
The third movie is expected to raise the stakes further, as “Glass Onion” was praised by chief film critic Owen Gleiberman of EbMaster as a “more complex, flashier, and intricate whodunit mystery” than the initial “Knives Out.” According to him, Rian Johnson has found a way to make Daniel Craig’s performance seem fresh again, and the suspects are in an appealingly ambiguous area between toxic and compassionate. It satisfies, but for the next film, the knives should inflict deeper wounds.
