Nintendo Switch Mobile App Updated With GameChat And Other Switch 2 Features

In just a week, we’ll see the debut of the Nintendo Switch 2, and Nintendo is preparing for another triumphant episode in their distinguished past. The latest news originates from the official Nintendo Switch mobile app, which has been updated to include functions for new key features that align with the upcoming next-generation Nintendo Switch console.

According to Wario64 on X, an update for the Nintendo Switch app now allows it to automatically collect screenshots and videos taken on the Switch 2, storing up to 100 files for a period of 30 days. Furthermore, the app provides users with the option to invite friends to the novel GameChat feature, monitor their gaming history, and add new friends using friend codes or QR codes directly from the application itself.

The update for the app arrives following numerous clips appearing online showing early unboxings and tutorials of Switch 2, hinting that certain gamers might’ve obtained their systems before official release. Nintendo has yet to speak on these videos, which have since been taken down from YouTube, but they’ve collaborated with online marketplaces to tackle scalpers.

As an enthusiastic supporter, I’m thrilled to share that when the Switch 2 arrives, it will boast a launch roster of 20 captivating titles! Among these are the eagerly awaited Mario Kart World and refined versions of both The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild and Tears Of The Kingdom.

What’s more, Nintendo GameCube games will be making their way exclusively to the Switch 2 through the Nintendo Switch Online service. Initial offerings will include classics like The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker and Soulcalibur 2, ready for us gamers to enjoy!

Nintendo Switch 2 is set to launch in North America on June 5.
