Jimmy Kimmel Roasts Trump for Pardoning Reality Stars Todd and Julie Chrisley: The ‘Real Reason’ Is Because Their ‘Daughter Is Good Looking’ And Supports Him

Jimmy Kimmel recently expressed criticism towards Donald Trump due to his action of granting clemency to television personalities Todd and Julie Chrisley, who were mainstays on the USA Network show “Chrisley Knows Best” before being found guilty of tax evasion and bank fraud in 2022.

Jimmy Kimmel pointed out on his late-night show on May 28th, the actual motivation behind Trump granting clemency to the Chrisleys was likely because, one, their daughter is attractive, and two, she backed him at the RNC last year. It seems that move paid off. Trump didn’t merely commute their sentences; he granted them a complete, unrestricted pardon.

I want to thank you, President Trump, and I promise to stand by your side and your administration as we work together to uncover corruption and continue the fight for those who are wrongfully imprisoned.

Kimmel fired back: “Cool, we’ll get you a flight on the next ticket to El Salvador.”

Joe Exotic is really upset today,” said Kimmel, alluding to the popular topic from Netflix’s “Tiger King” documentary. “He’s been asking Trump for a pardon for quite some time now, but instead they granted it to someone else… He’s so desperate that he’s even pleading with Khloe Kardashian to ask Kim Kardashian to ask Donald Trump for help in getting him out of jail. It feels like living in 2025 is always like being on mushrooms.

In June of 2022, Todd and Julie Chrisley were convicted for altering financial records to deceive Atlanta banks out of over $30 million through sham loans. The jury determined that they had also concealed substantial income from their reality TV show from the IRS. Todd was given a sentence of 12 years in prison and Julie received a sentence of seven years. Prior to Trump’s pardon, the couple was expected to serve an additional three to seven years behind bars.

Trump, expressing in a video message that Todd and Julie had experienced severe consequences for their offenses, contacted Savannah Chrisley before the potential pardon and expressed: “This is an unfortunate situation, but it’s wonderful news because your parents will be released from confinement and cleared of charges. I hope we can make it happen tomorrow. We’ll strive to get it done tomorrow. I don’t personally know them, but send my best wishes and pray for their well-being.

In the most recent soliloquy, Kimmel didn’t hesitate to criticize Trump over some of the questionable pardons he has granted recently.

In my critique, I’d rephrase it as follows:

“I couldn’t help but notice that the same individual, who incidentally received a significant donation from a fundraiser held at his own resort just a month prior, showed leniency to an individual convicted of tax evasion. This individual, Paul Walczak, was a nursing home executive who unscrupulously withheld tens of millions from the hard-earned wages of his staff. Instead of ensuring fair compensation for his workers, he splurged on extravagant purchases such as a $2 million yacht and high-end items from Bergdorf’s and Cartier.

Kimmel playfully commented, “He’s a fine individual,” referring to Walczak. During sentencing, the judge made clear that there’s no shortcut for wealth, stating, “There’s no ‘free pass from jail for the rich.’ In fact, it costs a million dollars, and it must be personally delivered by his mother.
