Ben Stiller Calls Pat McAfee ‘Weird’ for Comments About Him, Timothée Chalamet and Spike Lee Attending Knicks Game: ‘Seems a Little Anachronistic or Cliche?’

Ben Stiller is responding to Pat McAfee’s remarks concerning his attendance at the NBA Eastern Conference Finals.

At the Eastern Conference finals on Tuesday, Stiller, an avid New York Knicks supporter, was seated close to the action in Indianapolis. Accompanying him were other New York locals, Timothée Chalamet and Spike Lee. Meanwhile, McAfee, a fan of the Pacers, also attended; during the initial moments of the game, he used the microphone to cast some light-hearted criticism towards the celebrities.

In simpler terms, “McAfee stated that Indianapolis, Indiana is hosting some influential individuals from the city, including Spike Lee, Ben Stiller, and Timothée Chalamet. He jokingly suggested that we should make them long for home by sending them back to New York with their ears ringing!

As McAfee called out each name, the crowd responded with loud boos. In the end, it was the Pacers who emerged victorious, with a final score of 130-121.

On Tuesday, Stiller took to X to respond to McAfee’s callout, replying to a video of the ordeal.

Indeed, Stiller found it peculiar. Yet, we were delighted to be present, cheering on our team, and the Indy fans were fantastic aside from that. #KNICKSIN7″

Or simply:

“Stiller thought it strange, but we enjoyed being there to cheer for our team. The Indy fans were terrific otherwise. Go Knicks in 7!

Stiller elaborated on his perspective in his subsequent response. He said, “That’s alright. I believe he might just be joking – if it’s a genuine opinion, it appears a bit outdated or overused? It seems like we don’t belong there among the heartland, almost as if we are ‘famous city dwellers’. However, everyone we encountered was fantastic and extremely cool.

In response to being advised not to be “bitter,” the “Zoolander” actor instead expressed, “I’m completely devoid of any bitterness. Great job, Indy fans – you truly deserved that victory!
