As a die-hard MCU fan, it’s been four years since we last saw the revived Vision soar away at the end of WandaVision, now sporting an all-white form and with his memories restored by the Vision from Wanda Maximoff’s Hex. But fear not, next year is set to bring us back together with this intriguing character, thanks to the Disney+ miniseries tentatively titled “Vision Quest”. Fresh casting news has surfaced for this upcoming Marvel TV show, with one announcement revealing who will breathe life into the long-standing comic book character Jocasta, and another hinting at an actress I admire greatly taking on the role of Tony Stark’s A.I., E.D.I.T.H. in her human form.
T’Nia Miller Has Been Cast As Jocasta
According to Deadline, T’Nia Miller, known for her role in ‘The Fall of the House of Usher’, will play Jocasta – a character introduced in 1977’s The Avengers #162 by writer Jim Shooter and artist George Pérez. In the comics, Jocasta was designed by Ultron as his bride, with her mental patterns modeled after Janet van Dyne, similar to how Ultron’s were based on Hank Pym. Unlike Ultron, however, Jocasta chose a path of heroism and has been part of the team of superheroes known as The Avengers.
From the article, it appears that T’Nia Miller’s rendition of Jocasta in the MCU won’t initially be as shown, as she’s described as “revenge-driven.” Although specifics weren’t provided, given that James Spader will reprise Ultron in “Vision Quest,” it seems plausible to infer that Jocasta may seek vengeance against Paul Bettany’s character due to past events. The article doesn’t clarify how Ultron might return, but since his final form was seemingly destroyed by Vision in “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” it makes sense to speculate that Jocasta aims to retaliate for this act. However, whether she’ll ultimately become a hero like her comic book counterpart remains uncertain.
Emily Hampshire Is Reportedly Playing E.D.I.T.H.
It’s highly probable that T’Nia Miller will portray Jocasta in the upcoming production, according to Deadline. However, the rumor from scooper Daniel Richtman (via ComicBookMovie) about Emily Hampshire playing the human version of E.D.I.T.H. is less solidified. While many are familiar with Hampshire’s role as Stevie Budd on Schitt’s Creek, I personally admire her performance as Jennifer Goines in the 12 Monkeys TV series, created by Terry Matalas, who also worked on Vision Quest.

EDITH, distinct from F.R.I.D.A.Y., who took over from J.A.R.V.I.S. as Tony Stark’s personal AI in “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” was housed within a pair of sunglasses. This technology granted the wearer control over Stark Industries’ satellite network and an array of missiles and drones. After Tony’s death, he passed these glasses to Peter Parker; Mysterio temporarily acquired them in “Spider-Man: Far From Home.” Eventually, Peter managed to retrieve them, but they fell into the hands of the Department of Damage Control following the exposure of his secret identity to the public.
Given Emily Hampshire’s history with Terry Matalas, I’m optimistic that his casting for “Vision Quest” turns out to be genuine. It’s worth noting that Todd Stashwick and Faran Tahir, who have previously worked on “12 Monkeys,” are already part of the series cast. Specifically, Stashwick is playing an assassin pursuing Vision, while Tahir will reprise his role as Raza, the leader of the Ten Rings faction from “Iron Man.” Additionally, Ruaridh Mollica has been assigned to play a character named Tucker.
Speaking as a fellow movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the much-anticipated film “Vision Quest” is slated for release in 2026. Until we reach that exciting day, why not dive into the past and catch up on all of the title character’s prior Marvel Cinematic Universe appearances? If you’re a Disney+ subscriber, you’ve got easy access to these fantastic adventures!
