Previously mentioned, the series kick-starts on June 25 with the premiere of its initial three episodes. Subsequent episodes will air every week, culminating in the season’s conclusion on September 3.

The official logline for the show states:

As a dedicated fan, I’d rephrase it like this: “When a Homeland Security officer is brutally slain in broad daylight, I find myself being tapped for a covert team, comprising officers from various law enforcement agencies. Our mission? To probe the circumstances behind the murder. But as we delve deeper, we stumble upon a chilling conspiracy that threatens to engulf an entire city. The clock is ticking; it’s a desperate race against time to save millions of lives.

Besides Ackles, the team additionally features Eric Dane, Jessica Camacho, Violett Beane, Elliot Knight, and Uli Latukefu. The series was developed by showrunner and executive producer Derek Haas, and it’s brought to you by Amazon MGM Studios.

2024 marked the announcement of Jared Ackles as the main character in the series. Currently, Ackles and his wife Daneel’s production company, Chaos Machine, has a first-look agreement with Amazon MGM studios, while Haas is bound by an overall deal at the same studio. “Countdown” was specifically created as a leading role for Ackles, following his collaboration with Amazon in the popular series “The Boys,” where he played Soldier Boy, and the upcoming prequel “Vought Rising.
