Persona 4 voice actor confirms Persona 4 Remake is in development

A well-adored voice artist accidentally knocked over some tofu, effectively verifying what many fans had long speculated – the reality of a Persona 4 Remake.

There’s been a lot of chatter, reminiscent of a foggy night, for a solid reason. Back in February 2025, renowned singer Shihoko Hirata from Persona hinted at fresh tunes that were allegedly produced at MIT Studio in Tokyo, the same studio responsible for the soundtracks of Persona 5 and Persona 3 Reload.

Later in March, enthusiasts noticed the domain p4re.jp, similar to p3re.jp which was associated with Persona 3 Reload’s announcement. The hints came thick and fast. However, Atlus remained silent, providing no indication or release information regarding a possible Persona 4 Remake.

And now, Yuri Lowenthal, Yosuke’s original English voice, just casually blew the lid off.

Yuri Lowenthal confirmed Persona 4 Remake is real, but he won’t be part of it

In a recent Bluesky post, he shared that he won’t reprise his role as Yosuke in the Persona 4 remake. He inquired about it, and perhaps even pleaded, but it seems they have no intention of bringing him back.

Lowenthal has had a longstanding association with Atlus games that predates some current players’ lives. He provided the voices for both the protagonist in Persona 3 and Yosuke in Persona 4, as well as characters like Spider-Man, Sasuke, and the Prince of Persia. In essence, he is a veritable one-man universe when it comes to voice acting.

Just to clarify, it was actually Aleks Le who provided the voice for the protagonist in Persona 3 Reload, not Yuri Lowenthal.

While Atlus has yet to officially confirm a remake of Persona 4, recent developments such as the acquisition of the domain, newly updated music by Shihoko Hirata, and Yuri’s recent revelations certainly suggest that a remake may indeed be in the works.

Additionally, we have the P3 Reload enhancement. With its improved graphics and updated mechanics, it left fans craving for more. structurally, Persona 4 bears a strong resemblance to P3. Reutilizing resources would help Atlus save both time and money.

It’s possible a reveal might come at Summer Game Fest or Tokyo Game Show in 2025.

Atlas continues to impress, with Metaphor: ReFantazio surpassing predictions. Persona 3 Reload brought back an old favorite. If Persona 4 Remake follows suit, Atlas’ winning streak could persist.
