Viz Media, a prominent manga and anime service, has secured the rights for “One-Punch Man” Season 3, as the humorous superhero saga gears up for its long-awaited comeback.
This agreement covers the rights for stage performances, TV, online platforms, DVD sales, additional uses, and merchandising in North America, Latin America, and Oceania. The third season is set to air on Japanese television in October.
Originating from the creative mind of manga artist One and skillfully depicted by Yusuke Murata, “One-Punch Man” chronicles the adventures of Saitama, an extraordinarily powerful hero. His prowess in combat comes from rigorous training that enables him to vanquish any adversary with a solitary punch. The forthcoming season delves into the Monster Association storyline where elite S-class heroes are devising a rescue mission for a captive hostage, while at the same time, the malevolent “human monster” Garou is stirring trouble within the enemy’s lair.
For the third season, J.C. Staff takes up animation duties once more. Tomohiro Suzuki is in charge of scriptwriting, while Chikashi Kubota, Shinjiro Kuroda, and Ryosuko Shirakawa design the characters. Makoto Miyazaki will be responsible for composing the music.
Originally launched as a popular webcomic that garnered over 10 million views, this manga is now being published on Tonari No Young Jump (a webcomic site by Shueisha). It has experienced tremendous commercial success, with over 33 million copies in circulation. This intellectual property has shown great potential as a merchandising juggernaut, expanding into various areas such as video games and collectibles.
As a movie enthusiast, I can’t help but sing the praises of “One-Punch Man,” a series that graced our screens from October to December 2015 and then returned for more in April to June 2019, both seasons receiving rave reviews. If you haven’t had the pleasure yet, fear not! Seasons 1 and 2 are readily available on Hulu in the United States and Netflix in Canada and Latin America. For those who prefer digital ownership, options abound through Amazon Prime Video, Fandango at Home, Google, Apple TV, Microsoft Movies & TV, and YouTube across both U.S. and Canadian markets. So, grab some popcorn and immerse yourself in this remarkable anime series!
