Though the creators of James Bond may not have revealed their future plans for the movie franchise just yet, there’s no shortage of reasons to rejoice over its impressive history.
On June 1st, La-La Land Records is set to unveil the soundtrack for “Goldfinger” as a comprehensive vinyl version of John Barry’s iconic score, marking the most complete rendition yet. Strategically choosing one of the franchise’s most well-received titles, the record label plans to release additional physical copies in the following months.
As a diehard movie music enthusiast, I’ve been thrilled to see La-La Land reissue a good chunk of Barry’s iconic Bond scores on CD over the past year. Among them are deluxe editions of classics like “Goldfinger,” “The Man With the Golden Gun,” and “Moonraker.” What makes these releases even more exciting is that they come with remastered sound, and for “The Man With the Golden Gun” and “Moonraker,” there are exclusive, never-heard-before cues! It’s a significant milestone, as after decades of different track listings in the U.S. and abroad, La-La Land has finally brought together all the original cues on one album for the very first time.
The following playlist is marked up to showcase the variations from previous versions that were released earlier.

These releases don’t only provide physical media versions during a period when vinyl collecting is seeing a significant resurgence, but they also address or clarify discrepancies between different editions, like those mentioned earlier.
In addition to the launch of “Goldfinger” on June 1st, La-La Land Records is also revealing that a freshly remastered CD edition of the score for “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” will be available this summer. Following close behind, the next two vinyl releases will feature double-LP reissues of “Moonraker” and “The Man with the Golden Gun.” The company plans to unveil a James Bond soundtrack on vinyl every three months, interspersed with CD reissues to keep fans excited approximately every six weeks.
