This summer, Square Enix is making it possible to stream eleven Symphonic Suite Dragon Quest albums on Apple Music, with plans to make them available on various download platforms as well.
To date, these soundtracks have been exclusive to CD and vinyl in Japan, with no digital release in the Western world. Now, however, all 11 albums will be accessible via streaming on Apple Music and multiple download services – though specific names of other services haven’t been disclosed yet. Notably, these soundtracks were seldom released in the West, even when games were, except for a few exceptions such as Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age Definitive Edition. You can see the cover art for the albums displayed below.
The piece of music was created by Koichi Sugiyama and played by the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra. At present, there’s no information available about how much it will cost to buy the digital version.
Personally speaking, I’m thrilled to announce that the latest mainline numbered installment, Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition, has just landed on various platforms! You can now enjoy it on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store).
