A Message from Director Tokuda (May 2025)
Greetings, fellow hunters! This is Yuya Tokuda, the director of Monster Hunter Wilds.
I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has joined us in our game so far. As we previously announced, we are set to launch the Ver. 1.011 update on May 28th. This exciting update will introduce numerous new features and modifications to the game, including a collaboration with Street Fighter 6.
Our aim with Ver. 1.011, followed by Title Update 2 and subsequent updates, is to continually offer you fresh content to enjoy while also making improvements to enhance your experience in Monster Hunter Wilds. We hope you’ll look forward to each update as they become available.
Street Fighter 6 Special Collaboration
In this unique partnership, you’ll find gear designed to equip you for battles ranging from the untamed wilderness to bustling city streets. Also joining the fray is a fresh competitor in the game: Akuma!
In this collaboration, you’ll find the Akuma full armor set and the Akuma layered armor among the shared gear. Once you don one of these outfits, three new additions will appear in your Items Bar – Assisted Combo: Akuma, Drive Impact, and Gou Hadoken.
The collaboration equipment includes both the complete Akuma armor set and the layered Akuma armor. Once you’ve put on either of these, three items will be added to your Items Bar – Assisted Combo: Akuma, Drive Impact, and Gou Hadoken.
Note: The full armor set grants extra bonuses to these Akuma attacks!
Now I’d like to go into a little more detail about Assisted Combo: Akuma and Drive Impact.
Assisted Combo: Akuma
You can repeatedly pick this move from the toolbar to perform a series of actions. Pressing the ‘Triangle’ or ‘O’ button will trigger various maneuvers.
Drive Impact
As you accumulate energy in your Drive Gauge, you’ll be able to execute a Drive Impact. You can initiate this move by selecting it from the Item Bar or by pressing L2 and then R1 simultaneously during a combo sequence. When Akuma wears his full armor set, this maneuver receives an additional effect, causing it to deal extra damage if used on a monster’s vulnerable spot or wound. Mastering these techniques can help you defeat even the most challenging monsters in the game! Additionally, remember that you can assign each action to your quick access menu for easy use during intense combat situations.
There’s still a lot to uncover in this unique partnership, and we’re eagerly anticipating the reaction from fans of both shows as they delve into all the exciting content we have prepared for them.
To learn more about this partnership, feel free to check out the official site or user guide for detailed information.
8★ Challenging Monsters
Starting from Version 1.011, five new 8-star tempered monsters – Gore Magala, Rey Dau, Uth Duna, Nu Udra, and Jin Dahaad – will be accessible for hunting at Hunter Rank 41 and above, providing players with alternative options to hunt 8-star tempered monsters beyond Arkveld.
Note: The above tempered monsters will still be available to hunt at 7★ difficulty.
In Version 1.011, each monster encounters under-the-hood modifications to boost their resilience, including enhanced health, wound resistance, and multiplayer scaling adjustments. Be prepared for a formidable test against the powerful Tempered Gore Magala (8★).
Additionally, this update brings numerous enhancements to quests. Expect tougher challenges as higher-difficulty quests become more common as your Hunter Rank rises. Furthermore, you’ll notice an increased frequency of multi-monster quests and the emergence of tempered monsters with stronger ratings.
Title Update 2
In Title Update 2, arriving this summer, you can expect the arrival of brand-new beasts in the wilderness. Similar to Title Update 1, we’ll see the emergence of toughened monsters (8★) and an Arch-tempered monster too, so get ready for hunts that are harder than ever before!
Furthermore, even stronger monsters are also planned to be added in later updates.
Balance Adjustments
In our upcoming Version 1.011 and Title Update 2, as previously noted, we plan to make several changes aimed at improving the game experience for players.
Initially, several modifications were applied to the Hammer, Hunting Horn, Gunlance, Light Bowgun, and Heavy Bowgun in Version 1.011.
In addition, some enhancements have been made to specific features of Gunlance Artian weapons. While certain attributes have been reduced in others, other attributes have been boosted, creating a more diverse range of capabilities overall. I recommend you test them out once the update is live for yourself. For a comprehensive rundown of these changes, please refer to the update summary.
Title Update 2
Moreover, Update 2 will bring additional enhancements to The Hammer, such as introducing offset effects for specific strikes and enabling a subsequent strike following a successful offset.
Other weapons will also receive changes in Title Update 2 such as the Dual Blades.
Note: Weapons will continue to receive changes in future updates.
Quality of Life Improvements
As an enthusiast, I’m always striving to enhance the user experience by making key features and info more accessible, while also refining the game’s atmosphere with every update.
The following are notable improvements that will be implemented in Ver. 1.011.
Hunters can find relaxation at the Grand Hub and Suja, Peaks of Accord. Taking a break will rejuvenate any damaged Pop-up Camps.
From now on, once your inventory is filled with items, there won’t be any pop-up asking for confirmation. Instead, the newly acquired item will directly go into your item box.
The clarity of the remaining cooking time becomes more noticeable, as it counts down starting 10 minutes before it expires.
Version 1.011 updates now include a modification of the notification settings. The rate at which notifications appear has been reduced globally, and only high-priority targets will be shown in the Environment Overview. Moreover, we intend to ensure that active notifications no longer hinder the ability to open the map during Title Update 2.
The enhancements will extend to the process of joining multiplayer missions in both private and squad lobbies. Additionally, adjustments have been made to the camera behavior during hunts. These modifications are part of Version 1.011 and further improvements are expected in upcoming updates.
Title Update 2
As a gamer excitedly anticipating Title Update 2, I’m thrilled to share that we’ve got some fantastic enhancements up our sleeves! Expect a smoother experience with Seikret, as its usability has been significantly refined. Plus, with the press of a single button, you can now effortlessly check out your skill details across various screens. There’s more to come, so stay tuned!
Added Features
Update Ver. 1.011
In your previous correspondence, I highlighted the ability to examine unique wildlife species you’ve captured. At the Windward Plains, navigate to Ecological Research and choose ‘Check Endemic Life’. Here, you can see the details of your creatures, including their names, sizes, weights (for fish), and even favorite them to save space when your storage reaches capacity! Don’t forget to check out the distinct patterns or special traits these creatures may possess; if one catches your eye, make sure to store it for future enjoyment.
Title Update 2
In Version 1.011, the placement and actions for your Seikret and handler have been repositioned to avoid disrupting gameplay. Moreover, a character display toggle is set to be incorporated into Photo Mode for Title Update 2, along with an option to disable the glowing effect on your hunter from skills and items.
Additionally, layered weapons are scheduled to appear in Title Update 2. We eagerly anticipate players enjoying this new feature!
Other Update Contents
Game Stability Improvements
The team is consistently working on locating and fixing instability problems, particularly focusing on the Steam edition, with a goal of persistent advancement and further enhancement in these areas.
Version 1.011 introduces enhancements in managing VRAM and addresses crashes caused by insufficient VRAM, in addition to this. We’re also working on upgrading the Steam version with superior texture streaming for future updates. Our aim is to continually improve performance for an optimal gameplay experience.
Game Cycle
In the Version 1.011 update, we’ve boosted the prizes for investigations and field surveys involving 8-star monsters, as well as for fishing endeavors. The Guild Points rewards for fishing have been adjusted too, with certain big catches and uncommon fish seeing an increase in their rewards, while others will see a decrease.
I also hinted at the Monsters section that even more formidable creatures are on their way in future updates. To enhance this, we’ll be incorporating a new system where you can earn rewards and equipment to broaden your skill sets. Keep an eye on our official channels for further updates.
Looking Ahead!
In the world of Monster Hunter Wilds, hunters can anticipate continuous updates and game enhancements that promise to elevate their gaming experience even further, starting from May 28 with our Street Fighter 6 collaboration! We’re committed to delivering content that keeps you engaged and excited.
Once again, a big thank you for your unwavering support of Monster Hunter Wilds. Happy hunting!
