The biggest upcoming challenge might be accurately portraying Tony Tony Chopper, the Straw Hat Pirates’ new crew member and ship’s doctor, who is not human but a reindeer-human hybrid that ate the Hito Hito no Mi Devil Fruit. Despite his iconic design, it would be extremely challenging for a television series to depict him, as it demands meticulous work from the visual effects team and a design that remains true to the original material without appearing unsettling.

I’ve been eagerly anticipating Netflix’s adaptation of the beloved character, Chopper, from One Piece. They’ve bravely dived headfirst into this challenge, incorporating hints about him in their promotional materials for season 2. Actors have shared their reactions to his design, while a sneaky silhouette of Chopper was even revealed at the end of a behind-the-scenes video in September 2024.

It’s encouraging to see that Chopper’s iconic appearance remains intact.
