9-1-1 Star’s SHOCKING Return?! You Won’t Believe What He Said!

Actor Troy Winbush, who portrays Nathaniel Greene in the popular 9-1-1 franchise, has shared his thoughts on the possibility of reprising his role in the series two years since his last appearance.

Nathaniel is the biological father of Hen (Aisha Hinds) and Karen Wilson’s (Tracie Thoms) child. In an interview, Winbush hinted that his character might still be present, suggesting he’d be open to reprising his role. “Well, we’ll see. I left Chicago just before winter set in, the last episode I filmed. He hasn’t disappeared, so perhaps he could return.

Winbush shared his experiences while filming his three-episode stint, which included one episode in Season 2 and two episodes in Season 6. He expressed, “Working on that show was truly enjoyable. It was great to be part of a friendly cast. The time I spent there was genuinely entertaining. Who knows if there might be more opportunities with them in the future?

Initially, neither Hen nor Karen knew about the strong bond that formed between their son Denny and Nathaniel Greene, which could be compared to a father-son relationship. However, as time passed, they came to accept and even endorse their friendship, recognizing potential benefits from it. This acceptance opens up possibilities for the character of Winbush to reappear in future episodes of the series.

The connection between Denny and Nathaniel has been a complex one, and the television series 9-1-1 has delved deeper into it over time. Denny was born to Eva and Nathaniel, who met while in rehab, although Nathaniel wasn’t initially aware of Denny’s existence. Later, Eva relinquished her parental rights to Hen and Karen for adoption, but she sought custody again after being released from prison.

9-1-1 is Already Renewed For Season 9

Though Nathaniel Greene, played by Winbush, hasn’t appeared on the screen of 9-1-1 for a couple of years now, the series has continued its engaging narrative and recently aired its Season 8 episodes earlier this month. This season was particularly poignant for the show, as it bid farewell to one of its main characters in an episode that starkly reminded viewers of the real-life perils faced by these first responders in their line of duty.

Previously, in April, when Season 8 of “9-1-1” was still being broadcasted, it was announced for another season with a total of 18 episodes. Later this year, the “9-1-1” universe will grow larger, as a new spin-off titled “9-1-1: Lone Star” is expected to debut on ABC during the 2025-2026 television season, making it the second offshoot of Ryan Murphy’s popular procedural drama.

9-1-1 is now streaming on Hulu.
