Aomar Aït Khedache, reportedly leading the group known as “Grandpa robbers” (comprised mostly of individuals over 60), has been sentenced to eight years in prison, with five years suspended. The verdict was handed down by CNN. Seven other accomplices were found guilty and received jail terms for various offenses, but they will be released due to time already served. Two defendants were declared not guilty of the charges levied against them; however, one of these acquitted individuals was ordered to pay 5,000 euros as compensation to Kim Kardashian and the concierge of her apartment building.

Judge David De Pas commented on the sentences being lenient, stating that they were determined from a distance, far removed from the serious incident that had significant consequences for the civilians. He added, ‘Even if no blows were struck or blood was shed, you have still instilled fear.’
