The inseparable relationship between renowned actor Pedro Pascal and his sister Lux Pascal, an actress herself, is a topic of great interest. What’s more, their deep affection is evident as Lux often finds it distressing when her brother’s character meets an on-screen demise – a scenario that Pedro seems to encounter quite frequently in his acting career.

Lately, Pascal reached the pinnacle of his on-screen demises with his highly anticipated murder in The Last of Us. Although gamers from the original game were aware that Joel Miller wouldn’t last long, viewers unfamiliar with the series were taken aback and heartbroken when Joel was brutally killed by Abby (Kaitlyn Dever) using a broken golf club after being beaten, this tragic event taking place in front of his surrogate daughter Ellie (Bella Ramsey). It was an emotional scene to witness, making it even more difficult for Lux to watch.

In her conversation with Remezcla during the 2025 Platino Awards, she admitted, “Since I’m Pedro Pascal’s sister, I could predict how that episode would unfold. I had a good idea of what was coming. Yet, when I watched it, I felt an overwhelming urge to toss my iPad aside.” She also shared that the emotional climax left her in tears.

Lux continued, “This isn’t a new occurrence. I believe it’s happened to me at least four times now. Given the number of deaths he’s caused, how many can we count? It’s like watching Game of Thrones, The Equalizer 2, and The Last of Us, each more violent than the last… but witnessing my brother meet such a brutal end was far from enjoyable.

Pedro Pascal has not passed away but has actually met his character’s end on screen 11 times, each time in quite dramatic and violent ways. For instance, he was transformed into a vampire and then staked in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and in Gladiator 2, he was hit with numerous arrows. However, the most gory demise has to be his character’s death in Game of Thrones. In that series, his eyes were plucked out and his head crushed, which was shown quite graphically to viewers. It’s no surprise that Lux found this disturbing.

Pascal Is Highly Protective Of His Sister

Beyond the distressing on-screen demises, it’s clear that Pascal deeply cares for Lux, given she is a transgender woman living in a society where transgender rights are being restricted. This protective stance is evident in his advocacy and vocal support.

Lux expressed a heartfelt sense of pride in a recent conversation. “However,” she continued, “I’ve never been surprised by his superstar status. It’s intriguing how many have wondered, ‘Is he as kind as we believe?’ My response is always an emphatic ‘Yes!'”

She further explained, “What truly sets him apart is that Pedro doesn’t conceal his genuine self, something most of us are accustomed to doing in today’s world. Why should I hide who I am, she mused? I believe people are recognizing this authenticity.

The Last of Us is streaming on HBO Max.
