24 Studios and Bandai Namco Entertainment have announced their collaboration on an upcoming Elden Ring live-action film, with director Alex Garland at the helm.
As a gamer, I’m thrilled to share that Elden Ring is a game born under the watchful eye of Hidetaka Miyazaki from FromSoftware. This masterpiece was inspired by a captivating mythological tale penned by none other than George RR Martin, the genius behind “A Song of Ice and Fire” series. To translate this epic world and intense gameplay into a movie experience, the project is under the creative direction of Alex Garland, an accomplished filmmaker serving both as writer and director.
They mentioned that Peter Rice, Andrew Macdonald, Allon Reich (from DNA), George R.R. Martin, and Vince Gerardis are responsible for overseeing the production of the film.
At the IGN Fan Fest 2025 in February 2025, author George RR Martin hinted at the possibility of a live-action film adaptation. He mentioned, “There’s been some discussion about turning Elden Ring into a movie.
Furthermore, Martin clarified any potential role he may have in the project by stating, “If it does happen [the Elden Ring movie], I’m unsure about my part in it. As for now, I’m focused on my book, The Winds of Winter, which might restrict my ability to be heavily involved.
Currently, neither A24 nor Bandai Namco Entertainment has disclosed any timeframe for the launch of the Elden Ring film, so I’m just as eagerly waiting as you are!
