As per recent news, Kevin Feige is actively seeking an actor to embody Ghost Rider in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Avengers: Doomsday, with two contenders already expressing interest in the role.
The upcoming project “Doomsday” by Marvel is one of their most extensive endeavors yet. Anticipated to have a budget surpassing $400 million, it lays the groundwork for an even more expansive film (“Avengers: Secret Wars”). Currently, there are 27 confirmed characters involved, with more expected to join the lineup.
In the most recent installment of The Hot Mic podcast, Jeff Sneider hinted that Marvel is auditioning actors for the Ghost Rider part in an upcoming film. When asked if Nicolas Cage might reprise his role as Johnny Blaze, Sneider speculated that a fresh face may be sought instead, as they’re currently on the lookout for someone suitable to fill the role.
One question remains unanswered: Which individual might take on the role? Various candidates have been suggested by enthusiasts throughout the years, but there are two performers who seem to be strong contenders.
Norman Reedus and Ryan Gosling want to play Ghost Rider in the MCU
Actors Norman Reedus and Ryan Gosling have shown a desire to portray the character Ghost Rider within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
2021 saw Reedus express to ComicBook: “For years now, talks about Ghost Rider have been ongoing, and indeed, I’ve been saying, let them cast me as him. I’m eager to bring the character of Ghost Rider to life.
About a year after, he shared similar sentiments with the media platform, stating, “Cross your fingers. I’m not sure. There’s been much discussion about it over the past couple years. Unfortunately, I can’t provide an answer right now.
Regarding Gosling, he expressed his desire to play Ghost Rider to Josh Horowitz back in 2022. Later, the journalist shared this with Kevin Feige at San Diego Comic-Con, which seemed to excite him greatly.

Hey there, if Ryan expresses interest in becoming Ghost Rider,” he noted, further remarking: “Gosling is outstanding. Ryan is impressive… I’d be thrilled to find a suitable role for him within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He donned a Ken costume on Venice Beach and generated more coverage than major films launching that weekend. It’s astounding.
Here’s the thing: Ghost Rider already exists in the MCU (sort of).
